What ten minutes a day actually does.

FAQ
Questions we get. Answers that matter.
Everything you want to know before a panel this clinical-grade goes in your bedroom. If your question isn't here — reply to any email, we answer within 12 hours.
Does it actually work?
How long before I actually see or feel results?
It depends on what you're treating. Muscle recovery and sleep shifts show up fastest — often within the first week of daily use. Pain reduction typically takes 4–6 weeks of consistent 10-minute sessions. Skin changes (fine lines, pigmentation, tone) show up at the 8–12 week mark — earlier in photos than in the mirror. Hair regrowth is the slowest at 16–24 weeks. The pattern across all outcomes: the people who see results are the people who use it daily, not the people who use it when they remember.
Is red light therapy actually backed by research, or is this another wellness trend?
Photobiomodulation (the clinical name for red light therapy) has hundreds of peer-reviewed randomized controlled trials across dermatology, sports medicine, rheumatology, and regenerative medicine. The two wavelengths we use — 660nm and 850nm — are by a wide margin the most-studied in the field. The research isn't the problem. The problem is that most consumer panels deliver too little irradiance to produce the clinical effects the research shows. The RLT40 is built to deliver at the intensity the studies actually used.
What's the difference between this and the $200 panel on Amazon?
Three things. One — wavelength accuracy. Cheaper panels often advertise "red light" without publishing their actual wavelength spectrum. Two — irradiance. Most cheap panels publish "lumens" (a visibility metric) instead of mW/cm² (the therapeutic one), because if they published real irradiance numbers the panel wouldn't sell. Three — flicker, EMF, and build quality. At 30–50% flicker and unpublished EMF, a lot of budget panels create more nervous system stress than they relieve. The comparison table above walks through the specs side by side.
How do I use it?
What's the daily protocol?
Ten minutes per zone, once a day. Stand or sit 6 inches from the panel. For skin, use red mode on your face and neck. For pain or recovery, use infrared mode on the joint or muscle group. For mitochondrial energy and sleep, use infrared mode on your chest or torso in the evening. That's it. No ramp-up, no cycling schedule, no complicated protocol. Daily consistency beats longer sessions.
Eyes open or closed? Do I need goggles?
Goggles are included and we recommend wearing them for face sessions. You won't damage your eyes with brief unshielded exposure, but 660nm is bright, and squinting for 10 minutes isn't pleasant. For body sessions (knees, back, shoulders), the goggles aren't needed.
Can I use it more than once a day?
Yes — two 10-minute sessions a day (morning and evening, or two different zones) is fine and what most of our long-term users do. More than that offers diminishing returns. Red light therapy follows a biphasic dose-response curve, which means more isn't better past a certain threshold. Ten minutes at clinical irradiance is the sweet spot.
Do I use it on bare skin or through clothing?
Bare skin, always. Light doesn't penetrate fabric at the wavelengths that matter. Your skin doesn't need to be cleaned or prepped — just exposed.
Safety & who it's for
Is it safe? Any side effects?
Red light and near-infrared at these wavelengths have an exceptionally well-documented safety profile — no systemic side effects, no drug interactions, no recovery period. The most common complaint from new users is mild temporary redness on the skin after the first few sessions, which fades within an hour and disappears entirely after a week of use. The panel is engineered with <0.1 μT EMF and <5% flicker, which are the two spec points most linked to overexposure complaints in cheaper panels.
Can I use it if I'm on medication, pregnant, or have a medical condition?
If you're pregnant, on photosensitizing medication (certain antibiotics, retinoids, some antidepressants), or have a diagnosed light-sensitive condition like lupus or porphyria, talk to your doctor before starting. For the large majority of users with no complicating factors, there's nothing specific to avoid. We're not a substitute for medical advice, and a 30-second conversation with your doctor costs you nothing.
Can I use it on my face if I have active acne or rosacea?
Yes — and many of our users specifically bought it for this. 660nm reduces surface inflammation and supports the skin's barrier function, which addresses the root mechanism behind both acne and rosacea flare-ups. Start with 5-minute sessions for the first week and work up to 10 if your skin tolerates it well.
The product itself
What exactly am I buying? What's in the box?
The RLT40 panel with 40 medical-grade LEDs (660nm + 850nm, dual-mode switch), a stand for tabletop use, safety goggles, a power cable rated for your region, and a printed protocol guide. Everything you need to start your first session the day it arrives.
What's the warranty, and what does it actually cover?
Two years on everything — LEDs, drivers, connectors, switch, housing. If any component fails under normal use, we replace it. Industry standard is one year because most panels don't make it past year two.
How big is the panel? Can I wall-mount it?
The RLT40 covers a targeted zone — one joint, one muscle group, face and neck, or the scalp — rather than full-body coverage. It's designed to be aimed, not stood inside. Stand mount or lay-flat use are both supported. Most users keep it on a stand next to their bed and use it before sleep.
How much does it cost to run?
Under $2 a year at daily use. The LEDs are low-wattage and highly efficient, and a 10-minute session uses less electricity than brewing a cup of coffee.
Ordering, shipping & returns
How long does shipping take?
Free worldwide shipping, fully insured. Most orders arrive within 5–8 business days depending on your region. You'll get tracking the moment it ships.
What if it doesn't work for me?
60-night home trial. Use it daily for 60 nights. If your skin, pain, energy, or recovery hasn't visibly changed, send it back for a full refund — no restocking fee, no return shipping cost, no questions. We eat the loss because it rarely happens. The people who use it daily for 60 nights almost never want to send it back.
Do you ship to my country?
We currently ship to 23 countries across North America, the UK, EU, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, UAE, and most of Southeast Asia. If you're not sure, reply to any email with your country and we'll confirm within hours.
Can I pay over time?
Yes — we offer interest-free installments through Shop Pay, Klarna, and Afterpay at checkout, depending on your country. Split the cost across four payments with no fee.
Still have a question?
Reply to any email and a real person on our team will answer within 12 hours — not a chatbot, not a ticket system. That's the other thing the $300 Amazon panel doesn't come with.
